Sterilised Catgut (Plain or Chromic) are natural absorbable sutures which over a predictable period of
time, are absorbed by body enzymes. Catgut is a uniform, firmly twisted strand and is made from the
intestinal submucosal tissue of sheep. The purified ribbons are chromicized before twisting to assure
uniform Chrome deposit on every cross-section predictable absorption. To form a strand that is a
virtual monofilament with very good handling properties, electronic twisting and polishing process is
used.
